[08 May 2008|12:07am] las vegas, nevada "las vegas looks the way you'd imagine heaven must look at night." LAS VEGAS: the name alone summons images of neon lights, elaborate shows, outrageous performers and bustling casinos where millions are won and lost every night. las vegas is all of that but much more. this fabulous city represents the american dream. once just a dusty watering hole less than 70 years ago, it has been transformed into one of the most elaborate cities in the world and the hottest vacation spot for the entire family. an ever-changing fantasy-land of a city, vegas has seen unbelievable expansion since it emerged from the desert. the sights and sounds of the city of lights are enjoyed by over 39.2 million visitors per year. they stay in some of the most glamorous, unique hotels in the world. they eat at five-star restaurants and expansive buffets. they play at casinos, pools, health spas and golf courses. sometimes (many times, actually) they even marry each other. if america is the world capital of reinvention, then las vegas is its heart. every year it attracts tens of thousands of new residents, looking for a new life, a big break, a second chance. made famous by it's massive and lavish casinos, the unrestricted availability of alcoholic beverages (as is true throughout nevada), and adult entertainment sin city is the ultimate playland getaway of the world. and in the city where most vice is legal, the slogan is "what happens in vegas, stays in vegas." post comment
