So the con was fantastic, but then I caught this ULTRA DEATH PLAGUE cold, and now I have a flight in four hours but I can't sleep at all. Or breathe, particularly. I had some cheesecake to make myself hate the world less, but it didn't work at all. So then I thought a bath might make me feel better, and after stewing in my own filth for awhile, I can confirm that not only do I still hate life, the universe, and everything, but I do so with wet hair.

Medicine is doing nothing, and I have a seven hour flight followed by two hours on the train followed by WALKING HOME WITH A 30 LB BACKPACK because there's no one to pick me up and you guys I just. Hate everything. EVERYTHING EVER.

Once I actually go to sleep, I will have a WHOLE DAY to get ready for my trip! Hopefully I will not spend the ENTIRE time goofing off.

SHIT I HAVE DONE:
- Found and charged my mp3 player, adding in many intriguing podcasts and delicious metal
- Found and charged my cell phone
- FINALLY took care of all my college shit except the trimet pass, which apparently I have to buy in person 8|

SHIT I NEED TO DO:
- Make sure my PSP is updated enough to play Disgaea 2
- Laundry
- Clean long enough to find my DS (if all else fails, bring SP so I can finish FF6)
- ALSO MY DRAMAMINE (or buy more, MOST IMPORTANT THING)
- Get my hair cut maybe :|a
- Print out my tickets

I think I borked my financial aid for summer semester, lolo. I'm sure I can fix it if I go down there and talk to somebody, but... honestly, I wish I could just blow off summer semester entirely and just get a shitty call center job or something. If it wasn't so important to me to catch up on my Japanese, I would.

On the other hand, I can ONLY take the Japanese courses I need and actually just pay for it myself. It would be nice not to go into debt for once. I'd be able to pull it off if I could get a second job... but how the hell do you schedule a job when you already have a job and also school? :|a

Besides hitting up fuckin' Taco Bell or something. I AM NOT WORKING FAST FOOD AGAIN. NEVER!!!11 >8|

So in my Sims 3 game, Excel is a Henchman. This just happened:

"The Boss was entertaining another powerful crime lord and was showing him how powerful he was. He pulled a lever and a trap door opened under Excel that would've dropped her into a pit of lobsters! Luckily, Excel was Athletic enough to jump away before falling. The Boss was impressed with Excel's skills and gave hr a raise."

With my Sims 3 game properly modded for non-random-babby-forming purposes, I have been playing A WHOLE FUCKING LOT. I made an ACROSS house, as I do every Sims game (for this one, rather than giving them all the last name "ACROSS" I named them what they would ICly respond to a question of their last name... so Excel is "Excel SECRET!!!!" and Hyatt is "Hyatt Oh My" and Elgala is "Elgala I," get it, like I, Elgala, and... yeah. I love my damn Sims.)

Il Palazzo has the Insane trait, so he has options like "talk madness" and "talk about conspiracies" in his dialogue options, and even better, he can "Talk to Self" at any point. IT'S HILARIOUS. Also, Excel has been to prison twice already. I CALL THIS SUCCESS.

Speaking of Sims, this Alice and Kev blog, which is chronicling the lives of two homeless sims (basically, all they have on their lot is two park benches). I think it's supposed to be like... touching and emotional or something, but I find it mostly hilarious. EITHER WAY, it's an entertaining read. I'm tempted to download them and stick them in my crappy neighborhood - basically I have one neighborhood that's mostly fictional characters, where they all live fun and productive lives, and one that's all OCs, where I breed them all, torture them, kill them, and otherwise make them suffer in every way possible.

Speaking of my crappy neighborhood, I made a Sim version of myself just to see what she would do. Thus far, she sleeps, eats, goes to work, comes home, and watches TV (she doesn't have enough money to buy a computer yet). So basically, accurate to real life, but totally boring. I'm not sure what I was expecting from my terrible self-deprecating self-Sim, but it wasn't boringness, that's for certain.

ETA: WAIT A SECOND, IT JUST GAVE SIM-ME THE OPTION TO MOVE IN WITH A BOY. No longer boring or accurate to real life!! :ooo

ETA 2: Also he lives with his family in a house worth 188k. This is like the exact opposite of real life.

I've been playing a lot of Sims 3. There are some seriously cool additions to it. I made a Lina and Gourry house - actually, I originally made them two separate houses, but then one day Gourry went over to Lina's and she HAD ADOPTED A BABY. I knew that time passes in the entire neighborhood in this version, but THEY CAN OBTAIN BABBY ON THEIR OWN? So I had Gourry pick up the baby and insult its face to Lina. "Inappropriate" is maybe the best personality trait ever - it also allows him such actions as "make inappropriate forum post" and "imply Lina's mother is a llama." But calling the baby ugly was really the only enjoyable part of the "WHY THE FUCK DOES LINA HAVE BABBY!?!?!?!?" saga, and there aren't any cheats out yet that would allow me to delete the damn thing, so I deleted her household, made a new one, and moved her in with Gourry, so I could control them both at the same time.

There are a lot of neat gameplay improvements over Sims 2, and the updated character creation system is FANTASTIC, but I'm essentially going to have to make a new neighborhood for every house I want to play, which is very nearly enough to make me want to go back to Sims 2 on its own.

...well, I'm sure someone will come up with a "NO BABBY WITHOUT PERMISSION" patch sooner or later, and I bet turning off aging would at least help a little. It'd also stone-kill that second bird of how much more difficult it is to prolong aging in this game. But until then, it's one household per neighborhood. Annoyyiinnngggg.

I bought a couple more volumes of Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service (7 and 8) and have just been devouring them. This just might be my second-favorite manga ever, after the undefeatable Excel Saga... actually, I can tell you right now, my favorite manga series are:

1. Excel Saga
2. Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service
3. Uzumaki
4. Petshop of Horrors
(huge gap between that and every other manga I own)

Except for Kurosagi, which has been a fairly new discovery on my part, I've read all of those series about ten billion times each. What exactly does that say about me, that my favorite mangas are all horror and Excel Saga? :|a

Cleaning was a disaster, as it always is, but I actually feel like I made some progress, which usually isn't the case in these situations. I put up a lot of posters... so it's only a little cleaner, but it's a lot more homey. My final tomorrow got canceled, so I'm going to give it another go then...

Of course, a lot of my cleaning time went to leveling in Disgaea, and now I'm rewatching Slayers Revolution for like the gazillionth time, and I haven't exactly started my project due on Wednesday. BUT PROGRESS WAS MADE, DAGNABBIT.

Also rplanguageclub is awesome. PRACTICE. \o/ LEARNING. \o/ VERY NEARLY STUDYING. \o/ Hahaha I suck at Japanese.

So I was gonna post something like, "You know what? Sabra really IS all the RP I need," since I hadn't been able to find one that meets my TEN GAJILLION IDEAS of what an RP should be, and consign myself to playing my extra characters in anon memes and shit. But then, in my despair and sadness and mourning, I looked at Deus Ex Metallia one last time, and LO AND BEHOLD, the whining of myself and the others on the RP anon meme is making them reconsider journal-based-ed-ness.

BLESS YOU RP ANON MEME.

I hope they change it, because FUCK YEAH, I will totally app Gourry (lead guitar) and Whimselina (vocals), and maybe later Excel (drummer) or Worf (bass) and at some point laserdragon and I can app Wayne and Garth respectively~~~

(For the record, I decide what every group of fictional characters I love would play in a metal band by default, not because of this RP.)

- Clean my room (or at the very least give it a valiant attempt)

- ~~Clean out my car~~ One trash bag was not enough to slay the beast. I retreated to lick my wounds.
- Get my oil changed (can probably put this one off a little longer)
- Study for my Japanese final (can probably cram tomorrow morning, but it wouldn't hurt)
- Do my comics class final (can be put off until tomorrow)
- Groceries (will end up being put off whether I should or not)

On the unrelated-to-cleaning-or-homework-and-therefore-bright side, Panera Bread has brought back the strawberry poppyseed salad. Nom. :d

My quest for a new RP has ended! Ever since I found out THE MOTHERFUCKIN' METAL RP is gonna have OCs, I've been excited for it all over again. Drr drr drr this RP was made for me. I AM GOING TO APP WHIMSELINA THERE. 8))) And. Possibly also Gourry. THE SLAYERS CAST WOULD MAKE THE BEST METAL BAND EVER, AND I WILL WHINE UNTIL SOMEONE APPS WITH ME. IT WILL HAPPEN THIS TIME. SOME PART OF ME STILL BELIEVES IN LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8(

In the meanwhile, trans_9 at LJ is really fucking tempting, partially because it seems like a super classy and interesting RP, but mostly 'cause it has a whole lot of Star Trek characters. I kind of want to app Data there, even though I know it's a really bad idea and knowing me, I'll just abandon the RP in a few weeks when Deus Ex Metallia opens up.

Speaking of Star Trek, I WAS REALLY EXCITED for that new Starfleet Academy RP for about five minutes, or rather, until I read that the mods weren't Trekkies. I am going to need to try harder not to be one of those people who are like, "YOU'RE NOT STAR TREK FANS. I AM A STAR TREK FAN. CHOKE ON A TRIBBLE AND DIE!!!1111" I love the new movie just as much as everyone else, but I don't want Star Trek to be trendy. I don't want Star Trek to be cool. I don't want incurable nerdiness NOT to be a prerequisite to liking Star Trek. THAT IS NOT OK. Am I really this adverse to people liking what I like? Is this the real reason why I (try to) stick to obscure or dead fandoms? Or is it just that I'm a grumpy old man in my heart of hearts? BUT I DON'T CARE BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT REAL TREKKIES. Dropped CFUD today. The timing was spontaneous (IN RETROSPECT, I SHOULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL I GOT OFF WORK), but it was a long time coming. Basically long enough for me to know I wouldn't regret it. I know I'm supposed to be sad, but I just feel warm and fuzzy. This is a happy end to four awesome years of pretendy-funtimes. \o/

I need to brainstorm an awesome drop post. I USED to have the idea for a perfect drop post like three years ago; I distinctly remember one existing. But I didn't tell anyone, because it was a surprise, which is to say... I forgot it. To be honest, I'm not really looking forward to that post... not just because I'll have to find time in between Sabra posts to run, but because THAT'S the one that's going to make me cry like a bitch. :/ Nonetheless, IT MUST BE DONE. Excel should get a happy end to her four awesome years of eating food regularly, too.

My biggest regret, I realize, isn't my paid time or even CFUW, but my playercest. I'll never be able to play Excel and Il Palazzo in the same RP again. Probably never be able to play Il Palazzo again, for that matter, what with the OVERWHELMING FEAR that someone will app Excel and I would have to kill them in their sleep. 8|

I need to talk to Lina about it, but I might drop Cape and Cowl, too. Predictably, I lost all interest in it as soon as she got busy (I DON'T BLAME YOU, LINACHU, YOU ARE AWESOME AND YOU HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE OF RP). But yes. Interest essentially lost. AM I ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ONLY WANTS TO PLAY FOR THEIR PAIRING? But it's just not a lot of fun to play Gourry without a Lina around. They are a matched set. :(

Other than that, the only things I'm really wanting for right now are a place to play OCs and a place to play Star Trek characters. I'm kind of looking at new RPs, but it's more because I don't want to waste my paid time than anything else. 8D;; I wish Deus Ex Metallia had opened way back when I was ACTUALLY EXCITED FOR IT. I've pretty much already lost interest, and the only character I'd be really excited to app - Il Palazzo - I can't for the reason stated previously. How do you say, "Look guys, none of you will play Excel right, so I just plain don't want one," without looking like a douchebag? I don't think you can.

BLAH BLAH BLAH right now I'm just gonna chillax at Sabra. Right now that's all the RP I want, need, and am able to handle.

People who bitch about CFUD events should see Cape and Cowl. Mind you, I love good events, but the event at C&C has been, "paste song lyrics into your post" for a week. I want to play more, but I don't like "NOW EVERYONE IS SINGING" posts, let alone theme weeks... HONEYMOON IS OVER? Though I guess it was never honeymoon so much as ZOMG SLAYERS CAST!!11

In other news, my window is full of beetles. 8| They climb in through some gap in the screen and get stuck. This has the very, very, very annoying side effect of me not being able to open my window ever. NORMALLY THIS IS FINE as I spend all my time in the living room, but today I want to get some cleaning done in my room. I get motivated to do this like twice a year, maybe, and the circulation in this house sucks balls, so it gets way, way, way, WAY too hot and stuffy in here if I don't have the window open.

What the hell am I supposed to do? Catch them? Kill them? Try and fix the screen? I can't think of any scenario in which I don't accidentally end up letting a dozen beetles in my room.

So I was all excited to be able to read more Slayers manga, but the art from Falces' Hourglass is skeevy. Skeevy skeevy skeevy skeevy. 8( Amelia has panty shots in just about every panel, and every girl but Lina has grotesque water-balloon Sekirei tits. IF I WANTED TO READ SEKIREI I WOULD ~~get my head checked~~ READ SEKIREI.

...I feel like I should include some kind of, "that's not to say I am judging people who read Sekirei" disclaimer here, except... I kinda am. Sorry. WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT but like. At the same time. Eew.

But anyway. This manga's art is just repulsive. This is not what Slayers should be. And yes, I know this is a series where Naga exists. But you know, even Naga is usually drawn with a little class. And that's all I'm asking. A little class. Girls wearing clothes. Not having to put up with ten tons of fanservice per square inch.

I feel cruddy. I'm pretty sure it's just the fun of spring allergies, but it's still annoying. VERY FEW PEOPLE WERE SPARED TODAY'S TALE OF SUDAFED HILARITY. To make that long story short, I'll just say that I sure wish that I didn't get Sleep and/or Stoned status effects from 99.9% of all medicines. :[

In less whiny news, my comic is turning a year old this month. I'll have finished up with chapter two by that point - in fact, I'm working on the last comic of said chapter right now. Assuming I don't miss an update between now and then (and for once I think I probably won't), that'll make 72 pages finished in the first year, or an average of ~1.4 comics per week. Not the 2/wk I was aiming for, but... well, not that bad, either. This year I want to try to finish THREE chapters. \o/

SHIT I NEED TO DO:
- Update exchange art galleries
- ADD EMBEDDED THREADS TO MY SITE ALREADY SO I CAN REPLY TO PEOPLE WHO COMMENT
- Write up a long and boring thing about my comic-drawin' process.
- Color some of the art I drew and put it up as an incentive for people to vote for me at topwebcomics
