Rolo seems like a real sweet boy. A bit reserved and shy-- rather quiet-- but still seems real likeable. You know? The quiet smart kid in the back of your class who isn’t too hard to figure out if you pay attention just the right amount.

Bet you’d be pretty surprised to hear that’s not all there is to the kid-- right? He takes on the guise of a sweet, well-meaning kid who cares about his family, one who works hard and makes friends real slow-- taking a little while to trust them, and all that. Rolo is actually a cold-blooded killer who doesn’t hesitate to pull the trigger. You could say that’s all he knows.

Someone messing up your plans? Kill them.

Someone hear too much? Kill them.

Someone getting too close? Kill them.

Someone figure you out? Kill them.

It’s the answer to everything.

He’s been assassinating since he was way young: seven or six years old. His abilities are perfect for it, after all, and it’d be a waste to not make use of a spectacular pawn like him. It’s the way he’s been raised: kill without hesitation. Complete the mission, because that’s everything. Kill or be killed, right? Not all lives are equal, and pulling the trigger one-two-three times doesn’t hurt Rolo, so why not. A complete lack of morality mixed in with a real shortage of empathy and a pinch of time-stopping power makes for an ideal assassin.

He’s been neglected and used all his life. He doesn’t really know what it’s like to be given affection, so that’s why a year spent pretending to be a boy’s brother really affected him a lot-- enough for him to forfeit the mission he’d been assigned. Because a kind word seems so foreign to him, it makes him into an easily malleable tool; he devotes himself to his fake brother, Lelouch, even going so far as to die for his safety.

But he’s also got a real ugly jealous streak that sometimes decides to show itself from time to time. And if he figures you’re becoming a ‘threat’ to his brother, yeah, he’ll kill you without hesitation.
