Hair is usually styled in a choppy sort of chocolate wave. While Nyssa loves being an identical twin she's always striving to find her own individuality. Where Tegan is elegance Nyssa is a wild, neon, choppy kind of style which embraces a punk sort of fashion. She holds herself with a dancing vibrance and a barely contained kind of energy. DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Nyssa has two tattoos - three small, black music notes behind her left ear one of which is somewhat shaped like a T. She also has two f-holes of a violin on her lower back. PB: Leighton Meester. personality FIRST IMPRESSION: Spunky and rather quirky with a loud, obvious rebellious streak. Everyone thinks they know Nyssa but really there is a lot more to the party girl than her free laughter and wild ways. She's a kind, considerate and polite woman who has merely lost her way in the world. It isn't that Nyssa isn't a nice girl she's just a little rough around the edges. Beneath the sharp snarl is a kind heart, showing a glimmer of her big sister Sam however she's buried this so deeply that even she wonders if she'll ever be just Nyssa again. There's a whole range of adjectives which can be used in conjunction with Nyssa not all of which are overly pleasant. Lively, vibrant, energetic, crude, overly friendly, gossipy, nosy, loud. She's a girl always on the go - too much energy and sometimes it gives people cause to wonder; too much pepper up perhaps? Fast paced - it's like she's on a completely different time-zone to everyone else. Most people wax-lyrical about the good qualities of a Gryffindor - how their bravery makes them stand apart from the other houses. In Nyssa it is more in the daring and nerve which shows her Gryffindor traits and her bravery can easily slip and slide into stupidity. Nyssa is one of those people who don't back down from a dare, who push and push people because it is fun to see them become furious and this often lands her in trouble. Nyssa has a habit of coming off as almost anti-social, despite her almost always on the go state, a little bit of a teenager wrapped up only in her own troubles. Generally the bouts of almost rebellious actions don't help her. She has a her dry and sharp humour will contest to that. Most people will remember Nyssa's moods having a tendency to dance within the 'permanently hyper' level, while she still has that energy about her it's a little...angrier now, rough around the edges which gives her stand-off feel. There isn't a dull moment with her around, or a quiet one really. Terrible at dealing with social conventions and moral cages Nyssa likes to revel in freedom, she isn't one to not do something just because someone said so. This is due to her mother pressing her own beliefs on her, how Nyssa should go through life. She doesn't deal with such cages well, if you tell her to do one thing then she's likely to do the opposite. She has trouble with The Man. Under the slightly attitude ridden exterior is a kind, generous young girl who takes after her big sister in that respect. It's difficult to shrug off a face you've been wearing for much of your life and so she sticks to the rebellious almost wild child appearance because it's a security blanket she has grown accustomed to. history Nyssa Rose and Tegan Montgomery joined the family on the 15th August, 1988. They were a lively addition to the household from the get go. Nyssa, the older of the two by ten minutes, was most noticeably the loudest, a fact which did not change during her childhood. From an early age Nyssa was one of the reasons the house was always so damn full and loud. The sound of Dilys shrill voice shrieking her name followed by an eruption of giggles from assembled siblings was a common place thing in the Montgomery household. It wasn't that she was naughty exactly, she was just cheeky and mischievous. Generally her childhood was a good one, possibly a little strict in some places which made the impulsive child act out but mostly she would not utter a compliant. Dilys was a strict catholic and her beliefs most certainly affected her children. They were all brought up believing in God and in certain respects fearing. Along with this came Dilys own strict personality, she was a firm woman and once she had something in her head there was little to shake her, a set of rules and boundaries which Nyssa will continuously push and push until her mother finally snaps. Where her older sister, Samantha, had dance Nyssa had music. While she also had ballet classes, along with her twin sister, she didn't have the same natural talent as Sam and dropped out within two months. Instead she would go to a singing class across the hall this quickly turned in to more for Nyssa and she picked up the violin as well. Perhaps not the coolest instrument around but it was something her mother approved of. The war had little effect on them really, David and Dilys kept a close eye on what the girls knew and they were mainly kept from most of the more...grisly details. They got that something bad was happening but no details but that. Dilys wanted to desperately keep her girls safe, to keep them her little girls a fact which would attribute to their almost sheltered life. It was out of love, a fact which Nyssa would begrudgingly accept later on. Something happened when the girls were ten, a something which she's still unaware about. Nyssa remembers little of the last time she saw her brother, she remembers seeing how happy he was, eager to be there with one of his friends and then she remembers being ushered out of the room, her mother unwilling to allow them as he had something to tell them. In her desire to protect her daughters Dilys never told them what went on that day, instead saying that her brother had done something so terrible that they would never be able to see him again. Nyssa wouldn't accept that as an answer and after a screaming match and a lot of tears was sent to bed. She didn't understand why her brother had been sent away. Whenever she asked she was told the same thing 'he did something which God was not happy with, it was a terrible thing and he couldn't see them'. Nyssa never really accepted this answer, always wanting to know more but Dilys was a force of nature, someone to be respected and feared and the young girl knew this and after awhile she stopped asking. Of course Nyssa never truly let it go, it was a sore point between her and her mother and it was brought up as much as possible. After Hogwarts Nyssa fell into the wrong crowd. Isn't that what parents say when they're child runs riot a little? Nyssa was all about having fun, showing off, being her own person. While she loved her sister, she was her best friend after all, she couldn't help but hate how people mixed them up, how everyone always expected them to be the same. Tegan went into university, cementing herself as the "good" twin, and Nyssa became a party animal. It wasn't until Tegan moved out to Uni when Nyssa finally decided, quite suddenly, to go travelling. Despite how often she tried to find her own individuality she felt abandoned as Tegan moved on and she didn't. So, she made herself move on. For around a year and a half she just travelled. She left abruptly and only let Tegan know she was safe via a picture and a trinket ever so often. On her travels she visited Las Vegas, actually that was the last place she visited.
