Oh, pretty long time since I last dropped by. I guess some things will never change after all, and I’ll never make a decent habit out of updating this journal at least weekly. I am trying though...right, who am I kidding? >.>
On to the main subject: currently packing bags while finishing the last touches on the flat’s Christmas decorations. I had a little trouble with the last one since my lovely Christmas tree decided gravity was too much for the finery adorning its branches, and just...fell! >.< It scared the shit out of me. I saw it leaning to the side when I was passing by the living room’s entrance, but before I registered what was happening, and attempted catching it before it hit the floor, it was already too late.
Thankfully, only one of the old balls shattered (a red one too! *sobs*), the new ones are plastic made (so less prettier) and survived. I fought the next hour trying to fix the tree safely back in its support, but failed miserably, and ended up tying it to something til dad would come home and do his job properly (hopefully) this time. I blame him for the loss.
I’ll be spending Christmas Holidays with my entire family, uncle, aunts, cousins, at the country side...like always actually. But I’m sure I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been like this since I was born, the only difference is that sadly, we’re not as many as we were before.
It should be a really joyful one this year too, with all the snow that’s been piling up for the last week. We haven’t had this much snow before Christmas in almost five or six years I think. I’ve always loved white winter holidays, and was actually talking to my sister and grandma, about two weeks ago, how wonderful it would be if it would snow like when I was a little girl, with pretty, heavy flakes, for entire weeks, until the snow would reach more than 5ft. Winters like those were my favorite time of the year.
I’m planning to stay there until the end of the week, but I think I won't be able to get back until late Monday, or Thursday most probably, since I’m not sure if any of the coach lines will work until after the second day of Christmas, and my dad will most definitely not bring me home himself.
Surprisingly, it’s not as scary a thought as it was in the past years. The idea of staying there almost seven days, without internet or even my pc, on this cold weather...I guess I’m comforted by the thought that this year, I’ll have enough things to keep me from joining their camp and become one of the routine people: eating fat, drinking homemade red wine, watching tv and sleeping until thoroughly sickened by my bed...
Ahh I’m slightly exaggerating, I like the atmosphere of being all together, though if not for the games, reminiscence of their childhood times (I should make an entry about this, since it’s such an amazing topic to debate) and occasional engaging discussions, if not for these, I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to survive 2 days with them, under the same roof.
The ‘medicine’ consists of two freshly printed original slash fictions (@fictionpress), four volumes of Togainu no Chi, one Naono Bohra smutty manga, and two yaoi novels I bought this summer but didn’t manage to digest thoroughly. I’ll also bring along Genki II in hopes that I’ll manage to catch up some two or three more lessons. I should really try to get myself in line with Japanese, or I’ll be facing hell when the finals begin.
Lastly, I shouldn’t type this here, as I’m certain I won’t be able to complete the task, but...if my mood is positive enough, and I won’t give in to laziness, there are two original fics I’m working on, fantasy themed, that I will try finishing by the time I get back. I’m planning to put these up somewhere...but the chances that I change my mind and decide otherwise, even if I do finish them, are still pretty high. I’ll see.
Well, I don’t update often, but when I do, it’s consistent at least. XD
This is it. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
