| From Russia, With Love. App it. App it so I can be dumb at you while being dumb in general. This is totally a good reason. More seriously, it's a humor/gag spy game where a sentient machine nabs people from their worlds and plops them down in an AU Earth. AUs are allowed (and even encouraged)! And it's a fairly slow game! It's really small, which is the only real drawback I have with it. | ||||||

| It's counselor season at CFUD already, and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out who to app. At this point, I'm just trying to decide if it'd be worth it to start apps for all of them and just seeing which one would get the highest percentage or something. | I've been seeing people comment that there's no point in joining yet another LJ clone when LJ exists already. Why get another journal that you'd do nothing with when you already have two or three just sitting there empty? While I can see that, it also feels like there are very different feels to the various sites? Maybe I'm wrong. ♥ Livejournal is the big site. There's a little bit of everything there. Everyone and their brother has a journal there, and the communities are all the richer for it. It's where I feel most comfortable jabbering about my every day life, which is really backwards seeing as how the rest of the world doesn't really need to know those things. ♥ Journalfen is uh. I got the journal so I could hang out and look at fandom wank. And then I got bored with wank so the journal is pretty much dead BUT STILL. If you're in fandom and you have a JF? You look at FW. ♥ Inksome feels like RP heaven. Yeah, there aren't many comms, but the number of icon slots means that I really want to join or start an RP over here. Hell, I might even get a paid account if I find a character who I really want to have more than 150 icons. It's always possible! And I just really want to RP over here. ♥ Dreamwidth is like JF in that I wouldn't be very comfortable RPing over there? But it really feels like a good place to write. The site has only been in Open Beta for less than a week, and there are already numerous writing comms and challenge comms. There's even a history comm! That site makes me excited to write again, which is kind of bizarre since it really shouldn't take a random blogging site for me to want to write fiction. I suppose there's also Insanejournal, but I never got hooked on that one. Yeah, these sites are very similar. They also feel very different, and one might be a better fit for someone than another. All the whining about people up and abandoning ship for the latest fad seems really silly. Very few people are going to start massive RPs on DW, so if I want to RP I'd go to either LJ or IS. If I want to write a lot, I'd go to LJ or DW. In short: I don't get why people are out there wanking over things like journaling sites. They might all be very similar, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I'd abandon all of my existing journals just to hang out on the newest "fad" site, only to abandon that one when the next one develops. | ||||||

| I joined a challenge comm this week! On one hand, I'm happy that I've joined a challenge comm and actually have ideas for fic. On the other hand, I have never been very good at finishing challenges. WE SHALL SEE HOW THIS WORKS OUT. | ||||

| ( This is an RP meme thing! ) And there's a second one floating around! When we role-play, we tend to pick up a variety of characters. They could be ones that we like, ones that we want to experiment with, or ones that we just end up making from scratch. Eventually, we come to associate with (some of) them in one way or another.
