Physical description: Vinnie tries his best to be a stereotypical Brooklyn Italian and dress with a leather jacket and boots, and ripped jeans, and black or white t-shirts. But his closet also contains Hawaiian shirts, button downs, khakis and sneakers. He just manages to pull it off. He's also short, standing at around 5'2.5". He's really hoping for a growth spurt.

Personality

Likes: Anything Italian (especially food), his family, Nona's pasta fagiolio, his friends, people who tell good stories, telling stories, talking, jokes, meeting people who haven't heard all of his stories yet, cute girls, cute boys, mob movies, changing things into other things, being something he's not.
Dislikes: Being short, people who upset his friends, people who can't take a joke, people and things who can't/won't change, licorice, being called a Guido

Secrets:

Vinnie's Brooklyn Italian accent? All the 'dees' and 'dems' and 'dose'? Fake. He was in Brooklyn once when he was about 7 to visit some relative or another. The Ciccarellis live in Scarsdale, NY. People seemed to expect him to sound and act that way, so when he switched schools when he was 8 he started using the accent and acting the way a stereotypical I-tai would. And people loved it. There's only one person outside his family who knows what he actually sounds like. And he doesn't talk to Vinnie anymore.

Vinnie's Uncle Max is a werewolf. Its his hair that makes up the core of Vinnie's wand. When Max presented Vinnie with the wand he said goodbye for the last time and went into hiding, fearing for the family's safety. Vinnie was 10 years old. Vinnie was very close to his Uncle Max and vowed to find him again some day, when he had finished his training as a Wizard.

Vinnie is not a virgin. He lost his virginity last summer to a muggle girl he met while at home. She was a 17 year old and a one night stand, and he still thinks fondly about her. He has not slept with a boy yet, but is looking forward to the experience.

Strengths: Transfigurative magic, being funny, making friends, getting people to smile, wandwork, getting his point across, loyal, trustworthy, he can make a mean meatball, being a great friend, being a New Yorker.

Weaknesses:Divinitory magic, his humor hides his vulnerabilities, wants to be well liked enough to change who he is to suit, can become violent when protecting people/ideals, cute people (boys or girls).

Detailed Personality: Vinnie likes to please other people. Its not because he's selfless by any means; he simply likes the feeling of making other people happy. He likes to make people laugh, whether its at his 'mannerisms,' or his jokes, or anything else. He likes change, likes seeing things change, likes changing his clothes. If it has to do with something becoming something else, he loves it. Caterpillars? Loves them. Loves the potential in them for change. The same goes for his friends. He likes making friends with people to see how they evolve and change.

There is the problem of his physicality however. Vinnie has a temper. He reminds himself of Joe Pesci from Goodfellas. He tries to be fair and give people the benefit of the doubt, but there are certain things that will push him over the edge. Talking in a negative way about his family is first and foremost, even as a joke. Other topics include talking bad about his friends, being openly prejudiced or bigoted, saying your family's sauce is better than his. He is Italian after all, fake accent notwithstanding.

Vinnie is like every other Italian male in the world. He can cook ethnic food, speak a modicum of the language, loves his mother, protects his sisters, gets picked on/picks on his brothers, fights with then makes up with his father, loves his grandparents. There isn't a thing about Italian culture he doesn't know. Or, at least, that's what his Nona tells him.

When Vinnie was sorted into Osborn house, the smoke from the candle started at first to spiral around the candle slowly. Vinnie looked from the smoke to the Osborn banner, and stared intently at the hare on it until he saw the smoke go towards it. For some reason, he just knew that he wanted to be in Osborn, and he hoped he conveyed that to the candle. Because if not, he knew a guy...

History

Vinnie's mother was born in San Gimignano, Italy, and was a strega there. She went to the major Itailian school of magic and graduated at 18 years of age. She moved to America when she was 21 to look for a job as a magical teacher. She found the love of her life instead. After a whirlwind romance, she and Vinnie's father were married on February 2, when she was already 5 months pregnant with her first child. Given the culture and religious beliefs, it was surprising to her when her family showed up to the wedding and supported her. It was an even bigger surprise when they stayed in America afterward.

His father was an Italian-American who was born and grew up in Mt.Vernon, NY. His family were all wizards, so it was no surprise that he was one as well. He went to Salem in his day, and loved it there. When he met Maria, he fell immediately in love. When they found out she was pregnant, his family supported them as best they could. He chose to work as a muggle teacher after his second child was born to earn extra income to support his growing family.

Vinnie was born the 6th child of 8, to his Italian Roman Catholic parents. He had what he thinks is the best childhood possible, being involved in little league, going camping, spending time with his family as often as possible. Despite having such a large family, there was no lack of love between parents and children. The family first lived in Yonkers, NY, but after his father got a promotion to Assistant Principal, they were able to move to "Scarsdale." It was still Yonkers, but the houses were bigger and their zip code was in Scarsdale. This was when Vinnie was 8 years old.

Since he was homeschooled by his parents, like the rest of his family, he didn't really havea chance to play with children outside of his family. Except for one of the neighbor's kids, a young boy named Chris. Chris and Vinnie used to play every day they could. As they grew older, they simply hung out, and got into trouble together. Vinnie was starting to develop a crush on Chris, though he never told the other boy that. Vinnie's parents didn't want Chris exposed to the magic that was inherent int heir household, so Chris was never invited over.

The day that Vinnie got accepted to SAME was the last time he saw Chris. Since they were friends, Vinnie told Chris about where he was going. Chris laughed at him. Told him he was crazy. Vinnie tried to explain that this was real, and that this was the reason Chris had never been invited over the house. Chris came back with a derogatory remark about Vinnie's mother. Two black eyes and a bloody nose later, Chris walked away for the last time. Vinnie has only seen glimpses of him when he goes home for the summers.

Vinnie's Uncle Max used to come by the house for dinner 4 times a week. Max was only 7 years older than Vinnie, and acted like a friend rather than an uncle. It was to Max that Vinnie ran and cried after Chris left. It was Max that first heard about Vinnie's attraction to the same sex. And to the opposite. Max was the one who told Vinnie that his family would support him, and encouraged him to tell them. When Vinnie came out and told his parents that he was bisexual, his parents hugged him and told him they loved him.

Max had a secret from Vinnie. There was a reason why Max was never around for dinner the nights of the full moon. Max was bitten by a werewolf in Italy when Vinnie was 6 years old. As the years progressed, it became harder and harder for Max to keep this a secret from Vinnie, as well as keep the general populace safe from attacks. And so, Max had a wand made for Vinnie of his own werewolf fur, as a token of remembrance. He came to Vinnie, told him everything, explained how much he loved him. And Max left. For good. Vinnie vowed that night to search for Max when he was trained enough to use magical means to aid in his search.
