i'd kill an army of sleeping cubans for the rum desires
in the clutch of your tongue.

you are an electric chair disguised as a la-z-boy recliner
and i find comfort in you."

IC INFO

Basic Info

Full Name: Jacqueline Adrienne Parker
Nicknames: Jac, always; Jackie if she really likes you
Age: 16
Birthday: November 2, 1992
House and Year: Bishop, Junior
Electives: Wandless magic
Wand: 9 1/2" sturdy fir wood with a sprite wing core
Boggart: A giant wasp
Patronus: She doesn't have one yet, naturally, but when it does develop, it'll likely be a ram. Since it seems to be a symbol of strength, agility, curiosity and imagination, and a lack of hesitation, it suits the adventurous, athletic and impulsive Jac.
Religious Affiliation: Athiest. Her parents never really emphasized it, it didn't really mean anything to her, and she had no interest in learning about religion as she got older.
Extracurricular activities: Quodpot Wide receiver

Family/Relationships

Parents: Andrew Parker (Pureblood), Julia Donavone (Muggle born)
Siblings: Elliot, younger brother by one year
Extended Family: A lot of cousins, four within her immediate age range, two of which can use magic; her mother's side of the family is composed entirely of Muggles, and is a little larger than the Parkers.
Sexuality: Heterosexual. She's made out with a few girls at parties, sure, but she doesn't consider that anything, really - she's actually, totally straight.
Significant Others: A few short relationships during freshman year and one that lasted six months in sophomore year, and a summer fling in between the two.

Appearance

PB: Willa Holland

Physical description: Jac stands at about 5'7", something above average but not exactly a giant, and slender. She has blue eyes and light brown hair that hangs down to her breast (tied up when she's playing sports or any other time it might get in the way), and can generally be seen parted over her left eye. Her skin is light, though she tans easily and will usually be fairly dark after summer. She usually dresses fairly casual, (tight) jeans and a blouse or shirt, with a hoodie whenever it's cool enough. She doesn't dress up often, but she doesn't mind wearing a skirt or dress. She rarely wears much make up, mostly because she doesn't want to spend that much time on it, but she does often have some eyeliner and lipgloss.

Personality

Likes: Being active, flying, sports (Quodpot, soccer and snowboarding, specifically), Muggle TV and music, boys, affection, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, sushi, adventures, parties, drinking
Dislikes: Potions, Astronomy, studying, history, extreme heat, being cooped up inside, feeling trapped, bees, quiet, cleaning, indecisive and inactive people
Quirks: Jac bites her lip and/or bounces her leg when she's nervous or has a lot of pent-up energy, and plays with her hair a lot, arranging and rearranging. She's very expressive, and tends to wrinkle her nose at people when she doesn't like what they're saying. She prefers to be doing things than sitting down and thinking, and while it's naturally gotten her into trouble in and out of class, it translates well to all kinds of sports.
Secrets: + Jac isn't a virgin. She's not ashamed of that, specifically, just that she doesn't want to be thought of as a slut. What she is ashamed of is the fact that the guy, her summer fling, effectively tricked her into thinking she should open up because it would mean something and then started treating her like shit. This effectively convinced her that her policy of 'no meaningful relationships' was the best path.

+ She's ridiculously afraid of bees, and has managed to escape getting stung because when she sees a bee is one of the only times she goes completely, totally still.

+Jac has a lot of guilty pleasure music. She's spent a lot of time babysitting younger cousins, and has heard many, many dissertations by them on why the Jonas Brothers are the best band ever. Of course, she doesn't agree with that, but she likes fun music, so she ends up listening to that kind of stuff more frequently than she cares to admit.

+Jac is more ambitious than she seems. She does usually act like all she cares about is doing things in the present, but really - she wants to be an Auror, like her father. If not that, she can only consider Quodpot player, though that is likely out of her reach and she knows it. But if she's the only one who knows about those dreams and they don't happen, she can handle it; if everyone knows, she'll feel like a failure.

+Her parents fight more than they did when Jac was young, and she feels like it's her fault, because a lot of time the subject of their argument is her, her personality and their differing views regarding her.
Strengths: Athletic, spontaneous, loves having fun, friendly, confident, energetic, loyal, independent, protective (mostly of her brother)
Weaknesses: Stubborn, impulsive, sometimes lazy, gets restless easily, not comfortable with love, lack of self-control

Detailed Personality: Jacqueline has something of a deceptive appearance: pretty girl, not quite stunning, probably fairly chill and feminine, ordinary. Once she starts moving and talking, the first word that usually comes to mind is energy. Jac is an extremely active girl, and always has been. There's rarely a moment when she's completely still, unless she's sleeping or has just seen a bee that is far too close for her comfort. Even in class, she's likely to be tapping her foot against the floor, leg bouncing repeatedly. Luckily, her energy is usually channeled into games and sports. She loves team sports, especially Quodpot and soccer, and winter sports, namely snowboarding. Really, her body moves faster than her mind - she has little to no self- or impulse-control, and is likely to jump into something headfirst without considering possible consequences, unless she has someone to balance her out and remind her - and even then, there's few people who she'll listen to. She has a certain amount of disdain for people who can't make decisions quickly, who would rather read books and research than go out and figure it out for themselves, and for that reason she doesn't pay them much attention unless they're very close to her.

Despite her constant motion and penchant for having people around all the time, she does sometimes tone it down and enjoy a few moments alone. She'll probably still be active in that time, with something moving, but she'll be quiet and take the time to think before she jumps back into the activity that she's accustomed to.

Jac's main objective, at least on the surface, is to have fun. This can be, understandably, very frustrating for her teachers. She has been known to abandon homework and studying to go outside with her friends, and if she isn't interested in a subject, she won't put much effort into studying for it. Hell, even if she is interested, she just doesn't try her hardest at it. She's smart, but she has very little interest in most academics - again, very frustrating for her teachers, because she know she's smart and just doesn't care. She does well enough, mediocre in classes she doesn't like but good in those that she does (except for Defense Against the Dark Arts, which she actually excels at). "If you would only apply yourself..." is one of the most common things that she's heard in her time at Salem. She doesn't care, really, because more than study she would rather go out and find something to do - an adventure to be had, attention to bring to herself, a party to start.

With her friends and family, Jac is fiercely loyal; to her brother (and a few especially close cousins), she's the quintessential overprotective sister. In her devotion to those people, though, she can be rather unknowingly callous and short with those outside her circle, and purposefully mean to anyone who threatens them. And while she has plenty of strong relationships, she generally stops at meaningful relationships with significant others. She's extremely independent, and she's never felt comfortable opening herself up quite that much with someone. She's a lot more likely to have flings and relationships that last, at max, six months, and will mysteriously end as soon as he looks a little too into her. She loves affection and having boys interested in her - she just doesn't want to be loved.

History

Andrew Parker came from a long line of pureblood wizards and witches centered in Massachusetts, and when he was at SAME, he was practically a star. Quarterback for the Bishop Quodpot team, charismatic and interesting, on good terms with almost everyone, a ladies' man who had commitment and admittedly somewhat arrogant about his success. How he ended up with the quiet but confident, fiercely intelligent, Muggle-born Proctor girl Julia Donavone was something of a mystery to most of the student body. Still, he thought she was beautiful and was captivated by her, and he managed to convince her that he wasn't just an idiot jock in their senior year, and while they had problems because he wasn't sure how to function in a long-lasting relationship, they got married four years out of school, while both were pursuing higher education and living in Boston. Andrew became a talented Auror, Julia a historian, and after two years of marriage, she gave birth to their first child, Jacqueline.

Jac didn't have much time as an only child, though - Elliot came along a year later, but because there were complications during Julia's pregnancy that could have been fatal, he was smaller than normal and she was forbidden from having any more children. Andrew was ecstatic at having a son - he hoped for someone to take up the mantle at Salem, a star just like he had been. Elliot wasn't built for that, though. Somewhat surprisingly for Andrew, his daughter was. She was interested in games from the very beginning, happy to get dirty and begging her father to teach her to fly, roughhousing with her cousins. She learned a variety of Muggle sports from them, and Quodpot from her father and his side of the family.

Julia was somewhat more disappointed with Jac's development - she couldn't sit still to listen to her lessons on history and loudly told her mother how boring it was, and then would grab Elliot and drag him outside to play. There were a lot of calls home during Jac's formative years, when she was in the same elementary school as her brother. He was often a victim of bullying, and she tended to get into screaming matches with bigger kids that sometimes came to blows. Despite her bluster and eagerness to protect Elliot, she wasn't built for fighting, and would almost always lose and come home bruised and scratched.

Her parents were extremely relieved when she started school at Salem, though for the first year there she was more on edge than ever, not knowing what was happening in the daily life of Elliot. Still, she made friends easily, and she loved being around people who were like her - at school and with the Donavones, she was under strict orders to be careful about mentioning magic and to be careful. It wasn't hard, exactly, although thinking before speaking was always a challenge for her, but it was nice not to have to worry. When Elliot joined her the next year, though, she found it even easier to make friends and to have fun when she didn't have to worry about him. She was loud enough that everyone knew her, and those who didn't found out who she was when she entered the Upper Academy and immediately joined the Quodpot team.

Really, Upper Academy ended up being somewhat detrimental to her health. It was much easier to party, to sneak out and explore or drink or make her own fun. Because she was so impulsive, she had always gotten into trouble, but it happened more in Upper Academy. She had a group of friends who went along with her half-formed ideas, and no one to balance her out. Her adventures ended in scrapes, bruises and occasionally blood, which she was more proud of than anything, and plenty of detention time, though the prospect of being suspended from Quodpot was always enough to stop her and rein her in for a while before the cycle started again. She started dating, a series of short, fun but ultimately meaningless relationships in her freshman year, a more stable one during sophomore year, and hook-ups at parties.

Her parents always seemed to be at odds over their children - Andrew was clearly proud of Jac, her skill at Quodpot and DADA, as well as her way of living. He didn't even care that she got in trouble so much; he just made sure she was on the right path to become an Auror. Julia, on the other hand, seemed to favor Elliot, the more intellectual sibling, and Jac received many a disapproving letter or lecture from her. She's started noticing that they fight more, when she's at home, like they're edging close to something big and irreparable - and she feels singularly guilty for it.

Sweet. I was looking at PBs and I know he's intellectual but I didn't want to be super cliche. How would you feel about Matthew Lush as a PB?
