Secretly Anne feels partially guilty for not blessing all of her children with magic, but she knows she had no control over it. Anne met James outside of James' school. Anne always enjoyed male attention, a trait she seems to have passed onto her daughter, and James was only happy to dote on his sweetheart. After a passionate yet rocky marriage, and three children, James said goodbye to Anne. He was fixated on his career, and hardly paid any attention to his kids. Marianne was ten when her Father left for New York, to be closer to the business he loved, and never really got over her "daddy issues", often needing attention and reassurance from boys.
