This story was written for the 2006 Make-A-Wish Summer Quarterly Mini-contest at MediaMiner. The contest required that all entries are one-shots (1000-7500 words) set in the summer with a sunset reflected on water, somebody stumbling/tripping, the words "seashell" and "candle," and must be centered around a wish. I somehow came up with crack and had a second entry in the works that never got finished, sadly.
