Lauren: "Oh. I couldn't sleep, that's all. You?"

Joshua: "Similar. So, what's your name?"

Lauren: "Lauren. You ask a lot of questions."

Joshua: "Joshua. I can stop if you want."

Lauren: "S'okay."

Joshua: "Something on your mind?"

Lauren: "Not particularly."

Joshua: "That sounded creepy, right?"

Lauren: "A little."

Joshua: "Sorry. It's just that you looked upset when I first came in."

Lauren: "I'm fine."

Lauren: "It's getting... early. I should probably go home."

Joshua: "This is going to sound creepy, but can I walk you to your street or something, at least? It's still pretty dark."

Lauren: "It only sounds a little bit creepy."

Joshua: "Well, it's an improvement."

Lauren: "I did manage to walk here all by myself, you know."

Joshua: "I figured. But that was before I met you, so."

Lauren: "So now you're going to escort me everywhere?"

Joshua: "Not... quite, no."

Lauren: "You going to lure me into a secluded street and kill me?"

Joshua: "Nope."

Lauren: "All right. Come on, then."

Joshua: "You're really paranoid."

Lauren: "Lovely. Just let me finish up here and we can go."

Lauren: "Where are you rescuing me to, exactly?"

Tim: "Angie's place."

Angie: "We have pizza!"

Tim: "Anthony and Colin are already there."

Angie: "Unfortunately."

Lauren: "Wait, I thought we liked them?"

Angie: "Anthony good, Colin obnoxious."

Tim: "We like everyone, Lauren."

Angie: "You like everyone."

Lauren: "Wait, what? She liked him yesterday!"

Tim: "She still likes him, she's just being difficult."

Angie: "I'm right here, you know!"

Lauren: "How could we forget?"

Angie: "You say that like it's a bad thing."

Lauren: "What did he do, anyway?"

Angie: "Oh, don't get me started."

Tim: "He thought her furniture was 'cultural appropriation-y'. With the -y."

Lauren: "That's... amazing."

Angie: "So I squinted really hard at him and said, 'do I look Asian enough for you now?' And then he got the hint. Amazingly."

Tim: "She also called him an idiot."

Angie: "And with good reason!"

Angie: "White people, honestly. No offence."

Lauren: "None taken."

Colin: "Angie, next time we do this, make sure you supply more chairs. Lauren always has enough chairs."

Angie: "Next time we do this, you won't be invited if you don't shut up."

Tim: "Okay, kids, calm down. There's room for everyone."

Lauren: "Take my seat. Next time you can carry one of my chairs here if it's so important to you."

Angie: "If you give him what he wants he'll just keep being a brat, you know."

Colin: "I'm not a brat."

Angie: "So are. Brat."

Colin: "Well, you're a bad host."

Anthony: "Lauren?"

Lauren: "I might head home."

Anthony: "Want me to walk you?"

Lauren: "If it's not too much trouble."

Anthony: "No problem. Thanks for having us, Ange."

Angie: "Thanks for coming."

Colin: "Thanks for the seat, Lauren."

Tim: "Bye, guys."

Anthony: "You okay?"

Lauren: "Yes. I think so."

Anthony: "You were zoned out."

Lauren: "I kind of was. I'm okay, though."

Lauren: "Could you stay for a while?"

Anthony: "Sure."

Joshua: "Are you all right?"

Lauren: "Yes."

Joshua: "Do you often walk around the city barefoot in your pyjamas at three o'clock in the morning?"

Lauren: "Do you often approach random, pyjama-clad women in diners at three o'clock in the morning?"

Joshua: "Not really, no."

Joshua: "What happened to your arms?"

Lauren pulled her sleeves down.

Lauren: "That's a stupid question. What do you think happened?"

Joshua shrugged.

Joshua: "You're an archaeologist, like Indiana Jones. Once, on an expedition deep in the bush searching for bones, a vicious dinosaur, who somehow managed to survive all these years undiscovered, leapt out and started chasing you. Your only means of escape was to jump from one side of a ravine to the other, so you grabbed what you thought was a vine and swung yourself across. Only the vine was actually a rose vine with spikes all over it and you got a bit... cut."

Lauren: "That's exactly what happened."

Joshua: "It's so obvious now that I think about it."

Joshua: "You want another coffee?"

Lauren: "You going to spike it?"

Joshua: "Nope."

Lauren: "Okay."
