“I don’t think it’s the sword,” said Harry.

“But he would’ve chosen something strong,” said Hermione.

“Sometimes there's strength in the simplest things,” muttered Neville.

“He’s talking about himself again, isn’t he?” said Ron. He picked up a crimson quill and began bending it.

“Anything?” Harry asked Neville.

“I don’t think so.”

“You look tired. You shouldn’t’ve come.”

“Says you. You couldn’t’ve stopped me, Harry. You’re not the only one with a vendetta.”

“How do we break this sword then?” asked Ron.

“I hate to destroy it,” said Harry.

“We have to,” said Hermione. “Has that quill done something to you, Ronald?”

Ron stopped bending the quill, put it down and glared at her. He then picked up the sword.

“Cool,” he said, giving it a swing.

“Be careful!” snapped Hermione.

“Yes, mum,” he retorted, swinging it again. It suddenly slipped from his hands, landing with a clatter on top of the quill, slicing it in half.

A tiny, green, glowing orb emerged from the broken stem, floating upwards, dissipating in seconds.

“It was the quill?” asked Ron incredulously.

“Strength in the simplest things,” said Hermione, smiling at Neville. Harry grinned at him too.

“I’m glad you’re here,” he said.
