personality: Sensitive, somewhat naive/oblivious, well-spoken, wealthy, occasionally a little unstable, respectful/serious, extroverted, strong-willed, friendly and persuasive, sometimes parental.
canon history: Quatre comes from a very large, very wealthy family and though he has strong personal and moral beliefs that drive his actions, sometimes it seems like he tends toward extreme behavior for the purpose of breaking away from his family's image. He was born in outer space and spent his early years being groomed as the heir to his family's fortune. A sullen and somewhat selfish child, his outlook on life changes drastically upon meeting the Maqunac corps, a group of mobile suit pilots who become his surrogate family and personal guard (so to speak). Quatre is approached by one of five scientists responsible for building the Gundams and instigating 'Operation Meteor' shortly afterward, and as a result becomes the pilot of the Gundam Sandrock.
From there he travels to Earth, fighting OZ on his own until he discovers there are four other Gundams... and four other Gundam pilots. Quatre seeks to unify the group from the outset, displaying an almost uncanny sensitivity and persuasiveness. Over the course of the series, he is responsible for diffusing a number of difficult situations. However, when the Wing Zero Gundam is discovered shortly after Quatre's sister dies and his father is murdered, Quatre takes the experimental suit and, under its influence, destroys multiple colonies and many mobile suits -- including that of a fellow Gundam pilot. Thinking he has killed one of his comrades, and overwhelmed with guilt, Quatre's character changes dramatically once more. From here on, he seems humbled, and a lot more cautious.
AU HISTORY: Quatre's family is responsible for manufacturing materials for building in space -- a business that has experienced explosive success recently, as well as a greater instance of industrial espionage and potentially worse. While Quatre no doubt finds building material fascinating and the allure of potential intrigue highly inviting, he has nevertheless chosen to distance himself from his family. Taking a small advance on his sizable inheritance, Quatre has bought a modest spaceship and now offers a "ferry" service of sorts, doing his best to remain above board and out of the public eye. He spends his free time learning as much as possible about spaceship mechanics as possible and sampling exotic tea.
