Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Patton had not been himself since the party. For someone in his line of work that was not good. When he was not focused he got sloppy and dealing arms was not a business where you had the luxury to be careless. He kept having dreams of the people he had seen there, he had seen some of them in his dreams before but now they had gotten stronger. He kept thinking back to the conversation he had with the woman he had met, she had reminded him of someone, had she been dropping hints for him of something more?

He sat with the journal in front of him and thought back to the golden woman who had appeared with the earthquakes, like the other woman he knew she reminded him of someone, like he knew her from somewhere but it was just beyond his reach. He knew what his journal said on it, and had written down what he could remember the golden woman had said. Internet searching the silver age and golden age had given him a lot of results, first comics, which were not helpful, and then mythology things. The mythology was the best lead he had, since it connected with the theme of names on the journals. So he followed the lead, he needed to find out what he could.

A couple of hours, and misspelling of Othrys a few times, gave him a lot of information, even though he had come close to getting impatient. But he could not be careless with his work anymore and this kept distracting him, so that kept him going. Dividing the realms into three fit into the silver age, and looked like it referred to the myth where Zeus, Poseidon and Hades had split up the world between them and drawn lots. They had overthrown their father, Cronus, if Patton thought hard enough he could remember something vaguely from high school english class when they had read Homer and Ovid, but that was along time ago.

The party had been more recent so he was able to think back to it. She had said something about overthrowing the ones who had started their rule in the Silver Age, so he thought that must be that someone had tried to overthrow the brothers. "History repeated itself as son defeated father in a Coup echoing the war between those of Othrys and those of Olympus." Somehow the words stayed in his head.

A son defeated a father. Of the three brothers, Zeus was the one with the most sons, Poseidon had some and Hades did not, but something instinctive made him keep going back to Zeus. He resented him, everything he read made him feel more strongly about it. He was always putting his love affairs and children with other women over his wife and children. "None of them were ever good enough for him," he said angrily. His temper had flared up, it almost took him to another time.

Everything in the room changed, there were columns and marble. He was in Thrace, how he knew that he had no idea. "I will show you father. I will show you just how capable I am of ruling!" His palace shook, just like Olympus had shaken with his mother's rage. He had gathered his forces, Zeus would never be able to stand against them.

Eris, Deimos, Phobos, Aphrodite, Eros, Anteros, Hebe, Poseidon and the sea, Hera, the Younger Cyclopes, the surviving Gigantes, even Gaea herself was on his side. Who did his mighty father have? Apollo, Athena and Artemis had formed his army. Only they, Demeter, Dionysus, Hephaestus, Hermes, Hestia and Pan stood by Zeus side. He heard that even Hades had refused to join the sky king. He went out into the hall where he had gathered his supporters.

"Today the war starts. For too long my father has neglected his duty and wronged those around him. We are no longer worshipped, the mortal no longer fear us or respect us. Sacrifices are not made at our temples, we are not prayed to. Zeus has allowed us to become weak, he is weak. It is time for the dawn of a new age. Fight with me, brothers and sisters in arms and we can right his wrongs and bring justice to the world again!"

He started to write.

All this mystery is suspicious. Is anyone willing to meet face to face to talk about this?

He closed the journal. Patton, no Ares was not going to sit around anymore.
