Unique Roleplay (URP) is an advertising community for fictional role-plays that are far and away from the norm. We look for ads from communities looking for original characters with amazing plots or role-plays unlike any other.
We work hard to be the best place to find role-plays anywhere. Thanks to our team of moderators we're able to present advertisements of only the highest quality, and while looking through our ads you will never see the same advertisement twice.

Please note: This community is heavily moderated to make things easier for players looking for a community, and those moderators out there to offer communities of quality.
Now it is understandable that everyone makes mistakes, which is why we have a 2 strikes program.
Please see the FAQ for more details on the strike-lists and blacklist. You can also contact one of the maintainers here.
When posting for your community, if you have posted in Unique role-play before you must delete the previous post.
--- Greylisting offense.
No 'normal' role-plays (i.e. 'X-men' without some unique twist).
--- Post will not be accepted Please see PB rule below.
PB Games - Please note: Your game must not just 'take place' somewhere. It needs to have something unique or amazing about it. Games that take place in a school, club, beach resort, deserted island etc have been done and will not be accepted.

Harry Potter Games - Please Note: Your advertisement will not be accepted unless you are on the list of pre-approved HP games. To get on this list submit your advertisement here.
--- Greylisting offense
No real-person role-plays (celeb, etc.)
--- Banning offense. We don't waste space on the Blacklist for Celebs.
Any member that tries to cause a spam-war with posts like "Who asked you?" after any valid opinion will be banned from commenting.
--- Blacklisting offense
No Idea Theft! - If you see a role-play and you like the idea you may not take the idea as your own. This community is about being one of a kind.

Each advert must meet the following requirements to be accepted:+ Subject line must be name of the game.

+ Informative content. Posts that are just banners with a series of links will not be accepted.

+ Banner must be under 600 pixels.

+ Must have links back to role-play of comm info.
--- First time warning, second time greylist.

If you break the rules...
1st + 2nd Offense: Post will not be accepted, poster and community added to greylist.
3rd Offense: Post will will not be accepted, poster banned and added to blacklist.
We reserve the rights:

- to ban any user without warning for any reason we deem fit
All spamming of any posts will be deleted and reported to the Inksome staff, including advertising in the comments and flames. |

The Durmstrang Institute was founded over 1,000 years ago to educate Eastern European wizards. Set in the heart of the Black Forest, where fairy tales were born, by day the school looks idyllic, even peaceful. But you couldn't be further from the truth.
The Black Forest is home to werewolves, erklings, and creatures who do their stalking by night. And it houses a school that actively teaches its students the Dark Arts. A school where the most important things are success and survival. Are you going to make it to graduation?

Over 1,000 years ago, schools for witches and wizards were founded in European countries to instruct students in magic. Hundreds of years later, late to the party as usual, American witches and wizards started their own school, after the disaster that was the Salem Witch Trials. Since then, Salem Academy has flourished as well as its European cousin schools.
As times grew modern, American witches and wizards became immersed in Muggle culture. The cultures can be almost inseparable at some junctures, with one notable fact: the Muggles still don't know. But governments change and not everyone is trustworthy. How long before someone lets this secret loose, and what havoc will it wreak?

Why do we have to have a subject?
We require a subject to make things easier for everyone. At the side of the community there is an index of posts. It allows players looking for characters to easily click on a community that looks interesting and be taken directly to their post.
Why must the subject be the role-play name?
Same as above. When someone see's 'pimpin like a ho' on the sidebar, they aren't likely to look at the community.
Why must I have my comment feature turned on when I advertise?
This is so that moderators can contact you regarding your role-play. We don't want to have to go out of our way to get in contact with posters who have comments turned off. So, as a result, in the future these ads will just be deleted.
Why was my advertisement deleted?
There could be any number of reasons your advert was deleted your comment they include:
- The advert was mistakingly accepted by a mod when it did not comply with the rules.
- The advert had bad HTML and was messing with out layout.
- The role-play does not meet the standards (i.e. Celeb, Harry Potter 6th year, etc.)
The reason should be stated in the mod post posted after you were deleted. Check your e-mail. More than likely we won't just remember off-hand.
I think my role-play belongs here but...
... It wasn't accepted
If it wasn't accepted, it may be the advertisement didn't show that it was anything unique. i.e. "Come join our new PB rp" with a banner) Convince us by commenting.
... I don't know if you will accept it.
Post it anyway. In the post make sure to say why it is unique. If we don't accept it, then post a comment to convince us otherwise.
How do I know if my advertisement is too long?
This is a good rule of thumb for everyone: If you have to scroll down to see the full advert, it's too long. (Our resolutions are set at 1440x900, so you have an idea of what we judge to be too long.) Use LJ-cuts! It can be as long as you want behind a cut, but be advised, your advert is just a hook. If you put all the info here, people are going to pass it over because it's way more info than someone scanning ads wants to read.
How do I edit my post?
You must be logged on. Go here http://www.inksome.com/editjournal.bml and where it says "In community:"type in unique_roleplay, then hit proceed. You cannot edit your post if it has not yet been accepted.
How do I delete my post?
You must be logged on. Go here http://www.inksome.com/editjournal.bml and where it says "In community:"type in unique_roleplay, then hit proceed. There will be an option to delete.
How do I get off the greylist?
Don't break anymore rules, after a while you'll be removed.
How do I get off the blacklist?
You don't. It means you have repeatedly broken the rules. Go post somewhere else. If you are very desperate though, you can buy yourself off by donating to Inksome. Contact us for details. This offer does not apply to those who've posted celeb games here.
Why was I banned?
- You posted a celeb community.
- You got black-listed.
- You flamed a post.
- You have repeatedly broken rules.
- You were rude or mean to someone else or the mods without provocation.
How do I contact you?
- Comment in this post and we'll try to get back to you as soon as we can.
How do I get on the Harry Potter Pre-approved list?
- Comment in this post with an advertisement. Please understand that not all HP role-plays will be approved, but you must make the effort to even be considered.
