Three turns counter-clockwise. [Open to Markos]
Who: Liesl Kronenberg and Markos Mogensen
What: Have a discussion and we'll see what else!
When: After classes Monday the 31st.
Where: The Potions classroom
Rating: PG, PG-13 maybe?

Liesl was looking forward to the Potions room being empty. She hadn't taken Dark Libations, but had been quite close to deciding that route instead of Dark Charms. She had elected to take Poisons as her elective, and still found herself sometimes working on them in her spare time. Like now. She had some notes from Professor Basova on the latest concoction to try, and was ready to work on it. It was supposed to be quite tasteless, dissolve in the system with little trace, and oh the benefits of it! It was not merely a deadly poison, but had merits while the poison was first becoming active.

She entered the classroom, still dressed in her uniform, and chose a cauldron a ways back from the door. Her ingredients were in small bottles that were labeled in ways she could recognized, but didn't exactly advertise their contents to others. She didn't need anyone standing nearby being too curious about what she was brewing. She set down a small bottle given to her by Lidia Gorski for Christmas, preparing to pour the finished contents of her poison into it. That is, one it was finished. She looked up from her work as the door to the classroom opened.

Who: Adele Hastenpflug and OPEN
What: Adele is chillin' like a villain whilst reading a book.
When: May 18th, 6:32 pm
Where: Library
Rating: PG, Possible Dirty-mouthisms

There were some books that Adele cherished. These books sat neatly in stacks around her, waiting to be read. Likewise, there were other books that Adele thought were a complete and utter waste of her time. These, obviously, were the books being held by the annoying, snickering 5th years sitting at the table in front of her's. She lowered her head but kept her eyes trained on them. What was that old saying about looks that could kill? That would have been an excellent wandless spell for Adele to learn. Her lips twisted into a smirk as she lowered the book, swiped up a pen, and scribbled that exact thing down on her notes: develop "look to kill". Maybe that was how she'd one day earn fame.

That noted and possibly planned for, she returned to her book. Annoying and loud as they were, they really weren't worth her time.

Cards to the wind [Open]
Who: Nastasiya Kostenko and OPEN
What: Getting some fresh air
When: April 24, early evening
Where: School grounds, outside
Rating: PG-13

Two reverse, one upright.

Not exactly the answer she was looking for, especially when the answer was fairly simple. Nastasiya sometimes had to revert to silly and simple questions she knew the answer to just to make sure the deck was in the right, though sometimes its answers occasionally came back with something she could interpret as sarcasm. She certainly did not need her tarot deck giving her an attitude.

The blonde sat upon one of the benches not far from the same entrance she slipped out of earlier, sitting on it with a leg on either side so that she could lay the cards out on the flat stone. It was a simple 'yes' or 'no' procedure - Stasi did not care to set out a whole complicated spread where the cards could fly away easier with the spring breeze that occasionally blew by to taunt her.

When the wind picked up enough to render her attempt at occupying herself useless, she glanced up at the horizon. The sky was changing colour as the sun set; it was time to go back in. She'd heard plenty about attacks that were happening outside on the grounds and she had no intention on being one of them. Though, one wouldn't know it by the careful and slow way she picked up the cards and set to placing them back in to the wooden box opened on her lap.

Restaking a claim. [Open to Kristof]
Who: Liesl and Kristof
What: Liesl decides to see how her pet's been doing without her.
When: Tuesday evening after Kriststof's Quidditch practice
Where: Kristof's room. Oh those eighth years can go almost anywhere.
Rating: NC-17.This is going to be dark and probably racy as hell.

It took little more than a dark look and a threatening flick of wand to convince Kristof Yurkovic's room-mate that the one place he did not want to be, at that moment, was in their room. Liesl, taking full advantage of the fact that eighth years could go just about anywhere in the school, with only a few restrictions, entered the sixth year Light Path tower, and more specifically Kristof Yurkovic's room.

He was at Quidditch practice at the moment, and thought Liesl usually waited for no one, she knew Kristof finding her in his room would be a completely unexpected event. The thought of his surpise, as well as some other emotions she could wring out of him were what had her smiling as she settled onto his bed. Clothed in her uniform, she lay back, legs crossed at the knees, one foot dangling above the other. In her hand she held her wand as she waited patiently or Kristof to arrive.

Valentine's Day Ball. [All are invited]
Who: Everyone who wants to attend
What: Annual Valentine's Day Ball
Where: The Ballroom.
When: 7PM-12 AM, Friday February 13th

The ballroom of the Durmstrang Institute was lit with perfectly achieved mood lighting. Tables were set up, but the dance floor was clear. There was a spread of food and drink, mostly leaning towards snacks and light refreshment. Dinner had only been an hour before, and the students would likely be well fed already.

Most staff members were already in attendance, setting up or otherwise making sure everything was set to go. Several students had already started trickling in, the habitual early-birds who could never arrive at any kind of event late. Some were too eager to wait after dinner, and, instead of finding ways to kill time, showed up just as the doors opened. The party would last several hours of music, dancing and food, for every student and staff member at Durmstrang to enjoy.

[OOC: Attire is semi-formal. Professors keep a watchful eye out for mischievous students. The punch will not be spiked, and any student who tries will be ejected from the party. There are children as young as eleven theoretically attending [doubtful, but possible]. Mischief is acceptable so long as it's something that won't get someone in too much trouble. I will tag this as people show up, since I'm not sure who's going. Feel free to add a tag if you get to it first].

In better spirits. [Open to anyone]
Who: Liesl Kronenberg and Open
What: Studying a bit in the library
When: After classes on Tuesday.
Where: The library

The whispers about Petra Kronenberg's death were starting to die down a bit. Or at the very least, fewer people were whispering in Liesl's presence. One way or another, she didn't seem to be paying them much attention. Liesl was on her way to the library a quickness in her step that seemed to say she had a mission. Or at least that if someone planned to interrupt her, they should have a good excuse to do so.

But the curve of her lip was not as big a deterrent as the speed at which she moved. The little smile was almost inviting, if one didn't know better where it came to Liesl. But occasionally there came a time where her amusement wasn't necessarily at another's expense. The genuine curve of her smile suggested today might be one of those days.

She settled herself at at table, several books around her as she looked for the one she needed. Finally, plucking a book on zombie lore from the shelves, she settled down to discover the origins of the walking dead.

The Reznik New Year's Eve Party [open to selected staff and students]
Who: All invited guests and some unexpected, those of whom can be found here.
What: The Reznik New Year's Eve Party.
Where: The Reznik Estate.
When: 7 PM to 4 AM - Wednesday, December 31st through Thursday, January 1st.

The Reznik New Year's Party was one of the social events of the season. Almost anyone who was anyone, the best and brightest of the wizarding families, would be attending and the grand ballroom was decorated accordingly. All the wreaths and boughs were freshened up and strung with fairy lights - made with only the best and brightest fairies, of course - to give the large room a soft, whimsical glow and clean winter scent. Tables were set about around the perimeter of the room to allow guests to sit and eat if they wished, while trays of hors d'oeuvres floated unobtrusively around the room to serve mingling guests.

Dalibor and Hedvika Reznik had been making the rounds through the growing crowd for about an hour, chatting with guests and greeting others as they arrived. Vincenc, dressed in staid but formal black, had been doing much of the same, while keeping an eye out for the arrival of anyone interesting. Considering who was supposed to be attending, he didn't expect to be disappointed.

[Thread] Charms class [Open to Liesl]
Who: Sirja Kuuluvainen and Leisl Kronenberg
What: Advanced Charms class, in which there will be and 8th year wielding fire.
When: Last Wednesday
Where: Charms classroom
Rating: PG thus far

Sirja's stomach turned the moment the professor announced that today would be a day for hands-on learning shortly after the students were all in the room. Normally, that would have little to no effect on her, but it was the mention of an assistant that caught her attention; assistants were always 8th years, and it usually did not end well. The desks had all been rearranged to the side of the room to allow for space, and bags and belongings were piled up, leaving the students to stand around with naught but their wands.

They were practicing the Aguamenti charm against the Flagrante curse. Lovely. The last thing she needed was her robes (or more) being burned. Sirja fought the frown and convinced herself that it would help with her timing, and she might actually gain a step toward becoming better suited for a duel. If even just a little. But for now, she waited.

27 October 2008 @ 09:45 pm
Dark Path Party [open to selected staff and students]
Who: All Dark Path students and staff who wish to attend, plus any invited guests.
What: Dark Path party, yo.
Where: The Ballroom.
When: 11PM to 4 AM, Friday October 31st/Saturday November 1st.

One hour after the ballroom doors closed at ten PM, making sure every last student had left, Headmistress Eberhardt cast a spell on its doors and on every entrance in. No student or staff member who wasn't invited could enter the room. It didn't matter what spell a clever student tried to cast, by what method they tried to circumvent the spell, there would be no way in without an invitation. The decorations were taken down, changed, for a darker theme. The room rearranged, and in less than an hour the ballroom had been transformed.

The dance floor was still open and clear, but there was more food set up for students who would undoubtedly grow hungry before the party's end. Any dish student wanted would appear, just like in the dining hall. The doors reopened precisely at eleven PM, but would only admitted those who belonged there. As the party got under way, music filled the rooms as the night's guest showed up.

[OOC: Okay, so again the people who can attend are: Headmistress Eberhardt, Ambros Pakhunov, Mikhail Baikov, Liesl Kronenberg, Vincenc Reznik, Judita Radomira, Taavi Suullinen, Kristof Yurkovic, Heinrich Kronenberg, and Lidia Gorski. If anyone else wants to attend, feel free to come up with a way they got invited (NPC, sibling, friend, etc) and join in].

All Hallow's Eve Party. [All are invited]
Who: Everyone who wants to attend
What: Halloween party, duh
Where: The Ballroom.
When: 7-10 PM, Friday October 31st.

Some were too eager to wait after changing in costumes following dinner, and, instead of finding ways to kill times, showed up just as the doors opened.

The party would last three hours, until the doors closed again to prepare for the Dark Path party. But that was three hours of music, dancing and food, for every student and staff member at Durmstrang to enjoy.

[OOC: Costumes and masks are not required, but they're often customary. Professors keep a watchful eye out for mischievous students. The punch will not be spiked, and any student who tries will be ejected from the party. There are children as young as eleven theoretically attending. Mischief is acceptable so long as it's something that won't get someone in too much trouble. I'm tagging this with everyone I know of who said they'd attend. [Thread] Relieving Frustrations. [open to Kristof]
Who: Liesl Kronenberg and Kristof Yurkovic
What: Liesl decides to play with her pet.
Where: TBD, possibly an empty classroom?
When: Wednesday around lunch
Rating: This will likely get up to at least R. Violence etc.

Liesl was in a bad mood. A discussion that could most politely be called an altercation had just occurred between herself and her sister Petra. The younger Kronenberg sister had barely managed to deflect the rather hideous hex Liesl had thrown at her. In fact, after twin Expelliarmus spells, both sisters found themselves wandless. The fight ended when, in a rare show of impatience, Liesl's small fist met Petra's eye with some impressive force.

As satisfactory as punching her sister was, Liesl was still in a foul mood. Wand back in her possession, she turned to find Petra had managed to make an escape. Liesl felt cheated, and there was one solution: finding someone else to relieve her frustration. One of her pets would do quite nicely. It was merely a matter of which Yurkovic twin she found first.

[Thread] Things Said and Unsaid. Open to Liesl and later Arkadiy.
Who: Vincenc Reznik, Liesl Kronenberg, and Arkadiy Kostya.
What: Chatting about this and that.
Where: The 8th Year Common Room.
When: Today, a little after 11:30 in the morning.

Vincenc emerged from his private room in the 8th Year Tower after showering and changing. He'd just finished assisting in Professor Radomira's Physical Magic Integration II class for the first time that morning and he'd been pleasantly surprised at how much the "physical" aspect played a part in the class. Certainly more than it had in the previous professor's teaching methods, which is one of the reasons why Vincenc had managed to kill him last year.

Now clean and freshly dressed, Vincenc made his way out to the common room. He smirked a little to himself as he passed the door to a room occupied by another 8th Year who's name he hadn't caught. Apparently he had a guest and they were enjoying themselves quite vocally.

The smirk still in place, Vincenc swept into the common room and made his way to a plush leather armchair by the unlit fireplace. He'd barely settled before Stínohra swooped in to perch on the back of the chair. Vincenc's smirk widened to a warm smile. "Hello, gorgeous. You know I have something for you, don't you?" As he pulled the small bag of dried mouse entrails that he'd bought over the weekend in Durmstadt from his pocket, Vincenc added, "Good morning, Liesl."

He'd passed her on his way in, but hadn't been of a mind to socialize just then. Now that he was clean, he was much more amenable.

Getting to Know You (Open to Liesl & later Kristof)
Who: Katarina Yurkovic, Kristof Yurkovic & Liesl Kronenberg.
What: A torture session Conversations.
Where: The library.
When: Tuesday after dinner.

Whenever Kata found herself too stressed out she always did the same thing; poured herself into her books. Her quill ran across the paper at lightening speed practically as she tilted her head down further to focus on her book. Her dark bangs tumbled into her eyes, but she didn't care. She had to get Olaf off her mind, and the only thing that she could do was study harder. Letting out a soft sigh, she finally set her quill down and pushed her palms against her eyes. Rubbing them, she told herself that the tears that were starting to build up behind her lids were from the pressure of her palms and not from the slight fear that one of her classmates had already gone missing.
