locations.
Space is big. Feel free to create your own locations or refer to ones that exist in any fandom's canon. The idea is that all fitting space!locations from a conglomerate of series exist in this game. If you'd like to add a location for plot purposes (no matter how small), feel free to drop a comment and we'll add it to the list.
tl;dr: You are free to keep factions and locations straight from your fandom's canon, as long as they are not on Earth, or placed somewhere else in space. Locations are not limited to the ones listed below, it's just a starting point.

while the earth is still inhabited, its few remaining denizens must shelter themselves from the continuing rock falls in underground cities. with reconstruction rendered impossible by the rock falls, the human race instead terraformed other bodies of the solar system including a variety of space habitats and industrialized asteroids. this solar community maintains a high level of racial, cultural and technological diversity, and continues to use a large number of different languages, artwork and governments...
HEIFONG
a commercial system including three planets. densely populated. includes HEIFONG I, HEIFONG II, and HEIFONG III. on HEIFONG II are the "space port island" and "inaba" sister colonies where a cluster of schools are located, including (but not limited to) gekkokan and yasogami highs.
INABA
sister colony to space port island. home to yasogami high school.
SPACE PORT ISLAND
sister colony to inaba. home to gekkoukan high school.
TEIREN
a luxury planet, with hot springs. for relaxation!
SENTINELS I - VIII
SENTINEL II; SENTINEL III; SENTINEL IV; SENTINEL V; SENTINEL VI; SENTINEL VII; SENTINEL VIII. the higher the number, the further out into deep space they are. colonies slowly being settled by private interest groups.
EURIA
once a quiet residential system, based on mining for fossil fuels, euria is currently embroiled in civil war, its resources wearing thin.
MAIFUTUPURASS
the maifutupurassians are usually pirates...
BLUE HEAVEN
an asteroid colony, and a free town unaffiliated with any interplanetary state or any of the dominant pirate guilds. it's neutral status make it a popular stopover and resupply center for outlaws.
L1-5 COLONY CLUSTERS
group of colonies located at lagrangian point L1-L5, which is located between the earth and the moon.
